Herefordshire,
The Wye
Valley and Royal
Forest of Dean is a beautiful area to visit, whatever the
season but in particular, the autumn is a nice time to take walks
in the forest or admire scenic views of the River Wye. You will
find a wide variety of fungi and there are plenty of chestnuts
to gather whilst walking in the woods during the month of October.
A warning however regarding the fungi, unless you are an expert
on edible varieties, they are best left well alone. Some varieties
are extremely poisonous!
All
of the photographs below were taken within a half hour journey
from Ross-on-Wye, during past autumn months and include a view
of reflections in Soudley Ponds, Forest of Dean and a view from
the bridge across the Wye near St. Briavels.
