The
village of Brockhampton lies seven miles north west of Ross, and
is situated close to the River Wye with parish registers dating
back to 1578. The village's initial church (Holy Trinity) is now
a private residence and is situated close to Brockhampton Court
(bottom photograph). The
new church of All Saints was built between 1901-2 and was commissioned
by Alice Foster, in memory of her parents. It is a Grade I listed
building and has a Grade II listed lych gate.
Brockhampton
Court is now a nursing home but during the 1970s was a local venue
for many a memorable party and weekend night out. The whole village
is generally a very scenic and interesting place to visit, with
easy access from both Ross-on-Wye
and the City
of Hereford.
