All ten, tastefully furnished guest rooms are named after the castles in the area, namely, Wilton, Skenfrith, St. Briavel's, The White Room, Grosmont, Chepstow, Raglan, Usk, Goodrich and Monmouth. All rooms at Castle Lodge are en suite with either a bath, shower or both and each has its own unique character. They are also equipped with tea and coffee making facilities and LCD FREEVIEW television.

There are 'put up' beds for older children and if you have a baby or a small child you are welcome to bring a travel cot with you. Regretfully your pet cannot be accommodated.

Castle Lodge was once the residence of George Dolby, the manager and proofreader of Charles Dickens. The latter spent a weekend here in January 1869 , whilst planning his celebrated tour of America.

When you dine in the restaurant at Castle Lodge, not only will you be served with the finest of cuisine prepared using the freshest of ingredients, the dishes are so beautifully presented that they look almost too good to eat. The chef has taken every care to ensure that his menus include something to suit all tastes, from the simplest of bar meals to a fantastic a la carte menu and prefers to use local produce wherever possible. You will find prime Herefordshire beef or tender lamb from nearby Wales on the menu and there is an excellent fish menu. There is also a good range of options for the vegetarian to choose from.

The Castle Lodge cellar houses the finest of wines from all over the world, including Chile, Australia and South Africa and boasts a fine vintage cellar.

The bar at Castle Lodge is warm and friendly, with a wide range of beverages to help to quench your thirst. The bar is also open to non residents. During the summer months, why not enjoy your drink out in the sunshine on the lovely patio area in the grounds of the hotel. The residents' lounge is very comfortably furnished with Chesterfield sofas and is a lovely room in which to enjoy a pre dinner drink.

The George Dolby Suite at Castle Lodge not only serves a sumptuous breakfast, it is also an ideal conference venue for smaller groups.
