I just happened to catch the opportunity to photograph these two fallen trees caused by the high winds of 20th March 2004. I was actually photographing a Ross Town football match when the first occurred (bottom photograph) a split second before I arrived. Somebody telephoned me just as I was leaving the match to tell me about the second tree, which blocked Edde Cross Street for some considerable time. The people trying to unblock the road using their own equipment were local people, including James Pervis and Peter Martin plus Mike Morgan from Southampton, who was just passing.
