custodian of Goodrich Castle, Herefordshire.
They are really very nice people and if you are a member of
English Heritage, they will let you in for free. They will also
offer you a Digital Guide to help you find your way around the
ancient fortress.
You
can view inside the Chapel on this page, including the magnificent
stained glass window depicting the River Wye and discover 'Roaring
Meg'
the famous cannon. Sir
Henry Lingen fought unsuccessfully to hold the Goodrich Castle
for the king in 1645. ‘Roaring Meg’ the the famous cannon is
now on display at Goodrich Castle, the scene of its greatest
victory.
