The City
of Hereford - Herefordshire's
county town, lies 14 miles north, west of Ross-on-Wye by road.
Hereford Cathedral is the home of a chained Library, the Diocesan
Treasury and the 'Mappa Mundi,' which is the oldest surviving
map of the world, drawn on a piece of Vellum in about A.D. 1290
by Richard de Haldingham.
Hereford
is a beautiful city, well worth a visit if touring the Wye Valley.
As I do not travel to Hereford that often myself though, the
photographs on this page were just taken on occasions I was
there for other reasons than photography and I have not taken
them under good light conditions - just as it was at the time.
