The
City of Hereford lies fourteen miles north west of Ross-on-Wye,
Herefordshire.
Having grown up in London, I am not really keen on visiting
the city these days but when I have to, Hereford
is by far my favourite of the two closest cities to Ross-on-Wye.
As I have now made Wyenot.com my full time job, Tina kindly
went on a course with Inland Revenue for me, so I dropped her
off at the building, which can be seen in the top image and
went off photographing the city whilst she slaved over a hot
'self assessment' form. About mid morning, armed with a ticket,
which cost £2.00, I climbed the tower of the Cathedral
and, once I had got my breath back, took the photographs below
(among many others). I don't think the tower is open every day,
so if you see the sign that it is and if you don't mind heights,
it is worth grabbing the chance to climb the steps whilst you
can.
I
don't really know my way around Hereford City to point out all
of the landmarks but I can tell you that the tanks visible in
the top photograph belong to 'Bulmers Cider' and that the road,
located centre of the third photograph down is Church Street.
I hope you find the views interesting.
