What better way to discover the beauty of the River Wye than taking a Kingfisher Cruise? Kingfisher Cruises operates from The Saracen's Head in picturesque Symonds Yat East and until recently was owned by Gerald and Ros Gardiner, whose family had been operating successful river cruises for many generations. The business is now in the capable hands of Ian Price who, with the assistance of his daughter Jessica willl offer the same level of service and value for money river trip as their predecessors. Kingfisher Cruises are a great way of finding out some of the local history as you make your way through the gorge that separates Symonds Yat East and Symonds Yat West, as well as taking in some of the spectacular scenery and other items of interest that the Captain will point out to you during your cruise. Kingfisher Cruises operates with two boats. The Kingfisher can accommodate up to 32 passengers and the Wye Pride can seat up to fifty persons. Both boats are approved by the Department of Transport and are ideal for using as a school educational trip, an office outing or an unusual family day out. Each river cruise takes 45 minutes and both boats serve tea and coffee, soft drinks and snacks. The Kingfisher also has an on board toilet facility.

People with disabilities are very welcome to take a Kingfisher cruise and every assistance will be given to help board the boat and be seated, regrettably however, there is no access for wheelchairs.
