What better way to discover the beauty of the River Wye than taking
a Kingfisher Cruise? Kingfisher Cruises operates from The
Saracen's Head in picturesque Symonds Yat East and is owned
by Gerald and Ros Gardiner, whose family has been operating successful
river cruises for many generations. Kingfisher Cruises are a great
way of finding out some of the local history as you make your
way through the gorge that separates Symonds Yat East and Symonds
Yat West, as well as taking in some of the spectacular scenery
and other items of interest that the Captain will point out to
you during your cruise. The cruises generally are in operation
from March until October.

scenic River Wye at Symonds Yat.
Kingfisher Cruises operates with two boats. The Kingfisher can
accommodate up to 32 passengers and the Wye Pride can seat up
to fifty persons. Both boats are approved by the Department of
Transport and are ideal for using as a school educational trip,
an office outing or an unusual family day out. Each river cruise
takes 45 minutes and both boats serve tea and coffee, soft drinks
and snacks. The Kingfisher also has an on board toilet facility.
People
with disabilities are very welcome to take a Kingfisher cruise
and every assistance will be given to help board the boat and
be seated, regrettably however, there is no access for wheelchairs.

arriving by coach, incorporating great food and warm hospitality
into your day out at Symonds Yat. For further details of these,

Kingfisher
Cruises are not solely for group use, however. There are regular
voyages operating throughout the day from 11 am until 5 pm and
there are several car parks in the immediate area. To make your
day really different, why not take the old rope ferry across from
Symonds Yat West to the East side before you embark on your cruise?
There
are many pubs and restaurants on both sides of the gorge which
serve great lunches or delicious
cream teas to sustain you through your day, so why not book
a Kingfisher Cruise soon? Ros and Gerald will be delighted to
meet you.
