A celebration of the life of Amanda Hyatt took place at Newent Memorial Hall on Saturday evening at which two cheques of £500 each were presented to the Blood Donors Trust and Cancer Research.

Amanda a deputy manager at the Traveller's Rest pub in Ross-on-Wye died at the age of 37, on 20th October 2003 in a car accident at the top of Kilcot Hill, near Gorsley.

After her death, husband Les arranged several events to raise money for the two charities. These included a charity bingo and a sponsored walk.

Les had planned a 40th birthday party for Amanda but a celebration party took place on Saturday. It was a happy occasion and the cheques were presented mid evening.

Above: The Zebras take to the stage again, this time at the Rosswyn Hotel in High Street. Before their fine performance of classic rock music, which included 'Pictures of Matchstick Men' (the first record I ever bought with my own money,) the audience were entertained by Firefly, pictured below, right.

Right: Despite heavy and persistent precipitation on Sunday afternoon, one young boy takes time out to ponder life, the universe and all that whilst watching the flooded river go by.

Below left: Brilliant blues guitarist, Will Killeen entertains in the Hope & Anchor Boat Bar. Will is the only person I have ever met who can play 'Duelling Banjos' by himself and win on both counts!
