Why
not come and have some "Canadian Style" fun during Christmas week?
Our Canadian expert will be holding an activity day on Wednesday,
22nd December between 10:30 am and 3 pm. Discover the wild animals
native to Canada, join in a quiz, construct your own mobile and
paint yourself into a Canadian scene with bears, wolves, moose
and beavers. This
is a free drop in activity open to all and you will be able to
stay for as long as you like. Children must be accompanied by
an adult, so bring mum or dad, granny or granddad or even your
auntie or uncle. Prizes
will be awarded for the most creative work and to the quiz winner,
so join the staff for some great fun.
For those who wish to create a last minute Christmas card for
somebody special, the centre will be holding a "Stained Glass
Card" workshop on Monday 20th December. Again this will be a free
drop in session which will be held between 10:30 am to 3 pm Educators
from the Hereford Museum will be visiting for the day and will
be bringing all the materials needed for this activity. Once again
this is for all ages, but children can only take part if they
are accompanied.

The
Lions "Tree of Memories" will remain at the Heritage Centre until
Twelfth Night on 6th January. Anybody who wishes to remember a
loved one this Christmas can purchase a card from the staff to
hang on the tree. Absolutely all proceeds go to local charities
through the very worthwhile work of the Ross Lions Club. Cards
cost £2 each, and once in place, make a beautifully decorated
tree for all to see.
There is still time to have a go at the fun quiz for all the family,
over the holiday. Question sheets will be available on the desk
or in the Ross Gazette and Ross Recorder newspapers. Prizes of
boxes of chocolates will be given to the first two correct answer
sheets opened after the closing date of 30th December. This is
a free competition open to all ages.
Further information, as always, on all forthcoming events and
exhibitions at the Heritage Centre can be obtained by calling
in or telephoning 01432 260675.
