This year
we regret there will be no music at the Market House to see
in the New Year.
In previous
years we have volunteered our own time to provide music and
entertainment for the crowds to dance to.
On the whole,
the behaviour of the hundreds of people who attend has been
excellent. However last New Year's Eve, a handful decided it
would be great fun to smash windows, steal, fight and generally
make a nuisance of themselves. We have decided we cannot condone
this type of behaviour by rewarding it with further entertainment
- so once again the few have ruined it for the masses.
We hope
you have a very Happy and Peaceful New Years Eve Celebration.
Dependent on the behaviour the music may be back next year.

Year Entertainment Volunteers.

The photograph
to the left, which I took last New Year's Eve, does not depict
those responsible for the above vandalism - rather, it was
just somebody I caught demonstrating primeval tendencies with
a street lamp. No, I did not take it from the top of the Christmas
tree - that had already been vandalized by the end of November.
I took it from the window of the Heritage Centre.
