Left
- Michelle Watkins, Sheryl Watkins and Corinne Watkins, new
landlady of
the Horse & Jockey, serving customers in the New Street
pub on Friday 21st January.
Corinne
Watkins is the proud new landlady of the Horse & Jockey
and took possession of the keys to the building on Monday, 17th
January. The pub was officially opened on Wednesday and an opening
party was held on Friday 21st.
A
great evening's entertainment was provided by Marc Drew, pictured
below, Danny Lee and Kazz.
Corinne
intends to provide good pub food and regular entertainment.
We wish her well in her venture.

The
Robin, Erithacus rubecula is one of the best loved of
British birds, which can be seen all year round but is especially
noticeable in trees and hedgerows during the winter months.
Both the male and female adult birds have the same familiar
red breast which, in the case of the one above, photographed
whilst walking to Backney, cannot be fully seen as the bird
was facing the wrong way. Robins are aggressively territorial
birds - I was certainly worried about walking past this one,
I can tell you!
Again,
whilst walking to Backney last Tuesday, 18th January I thought
the the row of coppiced trees, void of their leaves and pictured
below was a colourful view. No doubt somebody will be able to
tell me what they are as I cannot currently find my 'Observer's
Book of Trees'.
