After winning
their last two leg matches without conceding any points, Ross
RFC returned to friendly action on Saturday with an away game
against Drybrook II. Fielding
a strong three quarter line with plenty of pace, Ross were unable
to run any ball due to a pitch which was more suited for a ploughing
match. Due to the conditions the game was decided by the team
that made better use of the muddy patches, and this was Drybrook
who saw their fly half cross for a converted try.
From the
restart Ross were able to get some possession in the oppositions
half and were rewarded with a penalty which Gage slotted over.
Half time, 7 - 3 to Drybrook.
Despite
a large effort the second half remained scoreless and both sides
continued to slug it out with mistakes plentiful.
Final score
Ross 3 Drybrook 7.
