HRH Prince Edward, Duke of Kent visited Ross-on-Wye last Tuesday, 15th February to officially open the new Council Chambers at the Corn Exchange. His Royal Highness, who was accompanied by the Lord Lieutenant, Sir Thomas Dunne KCVO was shown around the new premises before unveiling a plaque to commemorate the event.

Pictured below left, the Duke meets Paul Keetch MP, who was part of the welcoming party. The party also included Lady Dunne, Mr James Nicholas - High Sheriff of Hereford and Worcester, Mrs Rae Nicholas, Mrs Claire Keetch, Mrs Denise Mason -Town Clerk, David Mason, Nigel Gibbs - Mayor and Mrs Gill Gibbs - Mayoress. Below right, the Duke is pictured at the reception which followed at the Royal Hotel.

As His Royal Highness is a cousin to both Her Majesty The Queen and HRH Prince Philip - Duke of Edinburgh, it is not surprising that he bears a remarkable resemblance to HRH Prince Charles.

Aston District Scouts and Guides Gangshow took place at John Kyrle High School between Thursday, 17th and Saturday 19th February. Scouts, Guides, Beavers, Cubs and Brownies from the Lea and Aston Ingham presented, 'End of the Pier Show,' which was dedicated to Pete Watson, who sadly died just before Christmas. Pete Watson founded Aston Ingham Scouts thirty five years ago and wrote the first Gangshow which was performed at Aston Ingham Village Hall.

The show was a great success and the photographs below were taken during a packed Saturday evening performance.
