Abbotsfield Tree of Remembrance

A 'Tree of Remembrance' will be displayed in the Reception Office of Abbotsfield Funeral Directors in Cantilupe Road, Ross-on-Wye from Monday 14th March.

During the two week period before Easter and until Friday, 2nd April, you are invited to visit and hang an Easter tag on the tree in memory of loved ones.

The Easter Egg shaped tags have been made by local children and are decorated one side and left blank on the other for messages to be written. You are also invited to make an entry in the Memorial Book, which is placed in the Chapel of Rest.

The Reception Office will be open between 9 am and 4 pm weekdays. There is no charge for the tags, but if desired, charity donations may be made.

Ross Action Committee

On Thursday, 3rd March the AGM of Ross Action Committee was held at the Chase Hotel and before the meeting began, a presentation was made to Mr. Eric Humpston. Eric, now retired was one of the helpers and drivers for Ross Action Committee and kindly looked after special maintenance of the ambulance.

Ross Action Committee, founded in 1966, are now desperate for companions and drivers for the ambulance. If you feel that you are able to help, please telephone Rosemary Rigby on 01981 540477.

February 2005 Viewers

Being the shortest month of the year and occurring during the winter, February is again traditionally a 'quiet' month for web site visitors looking for information about Ross-on-Wye. Despite this however, Wyenot.com has been extremely busy. The Accommodation page has held onto its place as the second most visited page of the web site during the month but site visitors looking for weekend breaks should really begin to pick up just before Easter. The 'News' pages are also proving to be extremely popular with viewers.

Listed below are the main visitor figures for Wyenot.com between 1st and 28th February 2005:

Hits: 233,363.
Unique human visitors: 13,770.
Number of pages viewed by above visitors: 33,957.
Data downloaded (bandwidth used): 2,886,634 bytes. (2.8 gigabytes)

The top ten most visited pages over the same period, highest to lowest were: Home Page, Accommodation, Wyenot News, Street Map, Site map, Pubs, Shops, Dining Out, Goodrich Castle 2003, Scenic Ross-on-Wye.

679 new people added Wyenot.com home page to 'Favourites' on their web browser during the month.

The IP address which made the most individual visits was an internet gateway address belonging to Herefordshire Council and used by local schools. This IP downloaded 31.909 Megabytes of data from the Wyenot web server, despite the fact that it did not visit at all during the half term week

Out of interest, to show the rate at which Wyenot.com is increasing in popularity over the years, here are the February Unique Visitor figures for the web site over the past five years:

February 2005: 13,770.
