Whitchurch Whizzkids

Whitchurch Whizzkids, a pre school playgroup based at Whitchurch Village Hall, opened its doors to parents on Wednesday evening. Staff and parents of children met to chat about the playgroup, its activities and to launch its web site: www.whitchurchwhizzkids.co.uk.

Parents and children were encouraged to get involved with activities such as playdough and building spaghetti towers.

The playgroup is for children aged between two and a half to five years and runs from Tuesday to Friday mornings. For further information, Tracey Neville can be contacted on 07968 659706.

Calling all JKHS Teachers, Ex-pupils, Parents and Friends of the School . . .

John Kyrle High School will be celebrating its twenty fifth birthday this year and, to mark the occasion, there will be a 'Silver Jubilee Ball' at the school on Saturday, June 11th. In addition to a three course meal, there will be dancing to live music from the excellent band, 'Joint Venture.' There will also be a disco and licensed bar. It is hoped to bring together, present and past staff, ex-pupils, (1980 to 2005) parents, governors and all friends of the school.

In order to publicize this event, over the coming weeks, I shall be publishing photographs here, in the 'Archive Ross' section of Wyenot News. They will also be published in the Ross Gazette. If you recognize yourself in one of these photographs (or even if you do not) and would like to attend the function, which promises to be a great evening of entertainment, tickets are available from Kate Nicholls at the school.
