The Annual Presentation Evening for Ross-in-Bloom was held last week at the Phoenix Theatre. The auditorium was packed and everyone in attendance was able to celebrate with the major winners in the local competitions. Also present were the regional winners for the Heart of England in Bloom. The Mayor and Mayoress, Gordon and Margaret Lucas, were able to present the prizes and were ably assisted for most of the time by the Carnival Princess Miss Holly Elliott Vass.

A group of mums, along with their rather large and ugly babies set off from Terry's Digital for a pram race around the local hostelries of Ross on Sunday, 25th September. Stunningly dressed Andrew Cross, Roger Hale, Chris Snelson, Terry Thomas, Dave Woodyall, Ian Trimnell, Peter Collins and Steve Higgins set out, beginning at The Plough and finishing at the Hope & Anchor to raise money for the Parkinson's Disease Society.
