Above:
Children at Lea primary School filled shoe boxes with presents
for needy children, which will be distributed world wide
by the charity, 'Samaritan's Purse'. Pictured with the children
above is Peter Heath, who designed and made a 'Values Tree'
for the school, to raise children's awareness of 'values'.
The giving of the shoe box gifts coincided with this month's
value, which is 'Hope'.
Below:
Artist, Carl Arroyo, 'Artist in Residence' is working on
a major school wall hanging with contributions from all
116 pupils of Goodrich Primary School. The photographs were
taken during an open day at the school, where parents were
able to view the art, which is a painting based on the local
environment - nature and River Wye around Goodrich. The
hanging is going to be 24 ft square and will be based on
the painting which the two girls are holding in the photograph
below.

Goodrich School are taking part in the British Council 'Comenius
1' project and are currently enjoying year one of the three
year project, which includes primary schools from Turkey,
Poland, Bulgaria, Shropshire and Goodrich.
The
project encompasses cultural exchange and pupil visits.
It will eventually spread to the local community, leading
to the possible twinning of communities, with all the exciting
possibilities this could create. Teachers Tony Griffiths
and Claire Jennings recently visited Turkey and the hospitality
they received was wonderful.
Head
Teacher, Tony Griffiths said, 'The schools we visited provided
a fascinating insight into the Turkish education system.
The staff, pupils and whole community were so friendly and
interested in the British education system. It made us feel
very humble but at the same time, very excited about future
project work.'
On
Wednesday, 16th November teachers, Mrs Haine and Mrs Dix
will be joining colleagues from Shropshire for a four day
visit to schools in Poland. In the photograph are Mrs Jo
Haine and Mrs Jennie Dix, who are bound for Poland and Mrs
Claire Jennings and Mr Tony Griffiths who visited Turkey.
