Ross well and truly took the Christmas message of "giving"
to heart on Saturday as they "gave" Ledbury a lesson in
how to play high tempo rugby, running in thirteen tries
with another dozen going begging.
From
the off Ross were in total control moving the ball quickly
out of contact and giving Ledbury no chance to set their
defence. Tries came at an alarming rate, with Mike Davies
getting two tries within ten minutes, after which Tim Hanks,
Wayne Bishop, Andy Hunt and Alistair Rees got on the scoreboard.
By half-time Ross were 40 - 0 to the good.
Ledbury
looked to stem the tide in the second half, bringing on
a number of subs. However, this only served to delay the
continued try glut, with Andy Hunt adding two more tries
to his first half effort and Tara Barnett, Dan Weston,TC
Leach, Tim Hanks and Baz joining in on the try bonanza.
The
final whistle could not come quick enough for Ledbury leaving
the final score 75 - 0.
W ith
the first game of the season back in early September being
Ross's only defeat, their season has progressed well with
the squad playing a fast and open brand of rugby which has
seen them top the league with seven straight wins. Ross
now enter the Christmas break with their next fixture on
January 7th, at home to Sully RFC from Penarth in South
Wales.
If
you are looking to shake off that Christmas Day excess,

Ross
RFC wish all those who have supported the club, whether
playing or helping out on match days a very Happy Christmas
and we will hopefully see you on Boxing Day.
