Following a 'Great Balloon Release', children at Walford Primary School enjoyed rides around the playing field in a tractor on Friday, 30th June. (My apologies to everybody involved for my missing the balloon release - I have to be honest here and admit that I completely forgot about it.)

Also on a hot Friday evening, children at Brampton Abbotts Primary enjoyed face painting, go carts and much more at their annual fete.

Gemma and Wayne!

Gemma Price of Brampton Abbotts and Wayne Williams of Ross-on-Wye were married at the church of St. Lawrence, Weston-under-Penyard at 1:00 pm on a very hot and sunny Saturday, 1st July.

The wedding ceremony was followed by a reception dinner for family and friends at the Paddocks Hotel, Symonds Yat West and an evening disco.

The couple, who now live in Tudorville are currently enjoying their honeymoon in Mexico.

Ross-on-Wye Weather Station is located by the tennis courts and bowling green at 'Crossfields' and is one of the important stations around the country which regularly sends data to the Meteorological Office. This is why Ross-on-Wye is sometimes mentioned on the BBC weather reports. It is currently still a manually monitored station and readings are taken twice per day by husband and wife team, June and Rex Swallow.

A Water Lily finds its way through the jungle in my natural garden pond on Tuesday, 4th July.

Out of interest, I made a count this week of the photographs available on Wyenot.com as a whole. Prior to this week's issue of the news, the web site had 4,752 pages, which contain 30,032 photographs. I guess it is becoming quite a local archive.

This year, a 'Summer Spectacular' will be taking place on the Rope Walk site which previously hosted Ross International Festival. (Full details of which can be found by clicking here.)
