Educating
Rita in Upton Bishop
|
|
The 'Barebones Theatre Company' treated residents of Upton
Bishop to two fine performances of Willy Russell's famous
work, 'Educating Rita' on both Friday and Saturday evening.
Lorraine
Worrall and Dave Baldwin as Rita and Frank gave performances
that would not have looked out of place in a west end theatre.
Lorraine
is no stranger to Willy Russell and many will remember her
great rendition of 'Shirley Valentine' two years ago. If
you have not yet seen Educating Rita there are still plenty
of opportunities, as 'Barebones' will be visiting Fownhope,
Monmouth, Gorsley and Weobley. For details of dates and
times why not visit the Wyenot News 'What's
On?' page?

The
First Pint in 10 Years!
|
|
A new chapter has opened in the life of Ross Sports Centre
this week. Ross Town FC, led by Peter Gilmour have received
backing from the FA and the Football Foundation to improve
the facilities there. There are plans for an extension,
improved changing room facilities, a spectator stand, floodlights
and the refurbishment of the car park. These plans are for
the benefit of all, not just Ross Town FC and Peter would
like to hear from anybody who would like to help in any
way. If you would like to become involved in this project,
please contact Peter on 08707 650601.
As
well as improvements to the sports facilities, there is
also the social aspect of the Sports Centre. The bar will
be open on match days and the room will be available to
hire for wedding receptions and parties. There will also
be a new sound system and a wide screen television installed.
The first pint to be poured in approximately ten years was
welcomed by Mark Ravenshill, pictured below with Peter Gilmour,
Simon Brown, (pouring) Mel Hodges, Ian Phillips and Olivia
and Jamie.
