Big
Switch-on at the Cantilupe Café
|
|
It
was the event of the year! At least a dozen builders, white
van drivers, solicitors, dentists, cleaners and members
of the public turned up for the big switch-on of the
Cantilupe
Café Christmas Lights 2006.
To
rapturous applause, local pinup girl Sheila, aided by assistants,
Gill and Joan pressed the switch and the National Grid went
into overdrive, having to pull in power from Europe as half
a dozen fairy lights delighted the crowd. During the event
those in attendance enjoyed a hearty breakfast, which included
fried bread, eggs, sausages, bacon, beans, tomatoes, bread
and butter and a mug of steaming hot tea at a mere £3.50
per serving.
That's
my breakfast taken care of for Thursday! Half and half beans
and tomatoes with mushrooms, tea - a splash of milk and
no sugar, please.

Ashfield
Park Sing Live on BBC Hereford and Worcester
|
|
Members
of the Year 2 to Year 5 Choir at Ashfield Park Primary School
Ross sang a Christmas Carol live on BBC Hereford and Worcester
on Wednesday, 13th December. The Carol they performed was
'The Gift' and included a beautiful solo, sung by Kieron
Nelson.
BBC
Reporter, Lizzy Lane was at the school for the broadcast
and she spoke to the children and teachers. I took the photos
below just before the broadcast began, whilst sound levels
were being adjusted but I had to rush away to another venue
so I listened to the performance on my car radio. It sounded
great!

been raised by the regular teams for Macmillan since the
quizzes began in late October. The quiz on Boxing Day will
commence at 8:00 pm. Dave and Jacqui will be really pleased
to see you there.
