Jump
Start Move Into Y-Zone
|
|
Jumpstart
has returned to The Y-Zone for their Ross sessions which
take place on Wednesdays. Whilst Y-Zone was undergoing refurbishment,
Jumpstart operated from the Royal Hotel, who kindly let
them have use of a room there. Jumpstart are grateful to
the Royal Hotel for their assistance over the past year.
'The open space at The Y-Zone is great and we look forward
to welcoming friends old and new to joining us there for
fun soft-play for pre-school children.' Jumpstart informed
us. Sessions are £2 for adult and child (plus 50p for subsequent
children) and include refreshments, play, stories and songs
and all the usual Jumpstart fun.
Sessions
at Ross run from 10 am until 11 am and 11:15 am until 12:15

Oliver
Twist Visits Goodrich Primary School
|
|
The
Working Space Theatre Group visited Goodrich Primary School
on Tuesday 12th December and gave a performance of their
version of Oliver Twist, The timeless story of an Orphan
who dared to ask for more.
The
group transported the children back to Victorian London
to follow Oliver in his quest to find out who he really
is. Along the way he has many adventures and meets numerous

Helping Macmillan
|
|
A
cheque for £816.30 was presented to Pauline McRae and Joyce
Thomas of Macmillan Cancer Support on Friday, 15th December.
A special lunch was organized by Sue Jones and was obviously
a great success, raising £661 and was, by all accounts,
'delicious'!
The
remaining £155.30 was collected by Sue Vinall and pupils
and is once again a tribute to the caring nature of all
at John Kyrle High School. The money is much appreciated
as another step towards the building of the new Renton Unit
for Hereford.

the photo at the presentation are Nigel Griffiths, Joyce
Thomas, Sue Vinall, Pauline McRae, Sue Jones, Andreas Kitchener
and Alice Ancram.

Quiz At The Royal Hotel
|
|
Around
fifty people enjoyed an excellent quiz night at The Royal
Hotel in Ross on 14th December to raise money for the Charles
Renton Unit at Hereford Hospital. The event was organized
by the Manager, Andrew Mackie and Under Manager, Julian
Eslick.
Their
hospitality included refreshments and a goody bag for everyone
who attended. Four local businesses, AC Travel, Archenfield
Vets, The Barber Shop and Ross Old Books & Prints, generously
donated prizes for the raffle as did the Royal Hotel.
The
participating teams were kept in order by Soosie Pinnell
and the results were very close. The evening raised £231
which was given to the Ross Macmillan Cancer Support Group
and like all the other money raised in Ross this year it
has been paid into the appeal for the Renton Unit at Hereford
Hospital. The group would like to thank the Royal Hotel
and everyone who contributed to the success of the evening.

the photo are Pauline McRae, Soosie Pinnell of Macmillan,
Andrew Mackie, Manager of the Royal Hotel and Joyce Thomas
MBE.

Children,
mums, dads, grannies and carers dressed up in style for
the Tick Tock Christmas musical celebration. Christmas songs
old and new, quaint and quirky were performed in Tick Tock's
unique and dazzling style. Characters were brought to life
with the fantastic participation of the children and a sparkling
time was had by all.
This
is Tick Tock's second Christmas and due to it's popularity
the demand for places has grown so much that from January
an extra class has been added . From 9th January classes
will be as follows; Bishopswood Village Hall Tuesday 10:00am
Monmouth, Bridges Community Centre Wednesday 10:00am and
11:15am.
For
