Happy New Year 2007!

A crowd of thousands gathered at Ross Market House at a little before midnight to see in the new year. Below is the scene at midnight. This is always a great event - one of the best! It's a bit of a shame that no official countdown and rendition of Auld Lang Syne takes place these days but the hugely friendly atmosphere still prevails, every year without fail.

Every time I go to photograph the New Year revellers I get mobbed by the, 'please take our photo' brigade. Much as I enjoy this, this year I wanted to drink myself, so I snuck in the back way, taking my personal bodyguard, Tina with me and hiding within the confines of the market building itself - a kind of a quick 'in-and-out' job. I did not get away with it entirely. Below, you can see some of the photos I took during the ten minutes I was there. If you would like to see all of them, please click here. No names, I'm afraid as I left my note pad in the pub.

Here's wishing all Wyenot News readers a Happy and Prosperous 2007!
