The annual New Year's Day fun run from the Hole in the Wall to the Rowing club took place on Monday despite the flooding on the River Wye.

Over sixty people took part in the event this year, many deciding to actually run it, many in fancy dress.

The winner was local running champion, Vanessa Brann from Ross, who was the only young lady in the race and successfully out paced her older and bigger opponents.

For everyone else this walk was a splendid way to spend the first day of the new year, enjoying the countryside and great company.

This year's journey was all the more eventful because the walkers had to work around several localized floods. All participants finished the walk with a drink and some food at the Rowing Club.
