| Mourning
the loss of Community Support Officer Paul Penman |
|
|
The
Herefordshire Division of West Mercia Police is mourning
the loss of Community Support Officer, Paul Penman,
who collapsed and died on Saturday, 17th March. Paul
was taken ill at his home near Ross-on-Wye while off
duty. An ambulance was called, but sadly he died prior
to arrival at hospital.
Paul,
who was 49 and married with three children, joined
West Mercia Constabulary in July 2006 and settled
well into his role, covering the Ross-on-Wye Rural
area. Popular
with his colleagues and well liked by the public,
he was clearly enjoying his new career and the chance
to serve the community in which he lived.
Chief
Superintendent Mark Turner, Divisional Commander for
Herefordshire, paid tribute: 'This very sad news has
come as shock to all of Paul’s friends and colleagues
across the division and our thoughts are very much
with his family at this difficult time.
Paul
was a valued member of the policing team and the community
as a whole in south Herefordshire.
|
|
|
His
enjoyment of the job was clear to see and he will
be much missed by all those who came into contact
with him.'
Funeral
arrangements are still to be confirmed and enquiries
should be made via Abbotsfield Funeral Directors.
