Medieval Fun at Goodrich Castle

Goodrich Castle was the setting for a medieval celebration over the May bank holiday weekend, with lots of activities and various forms of entertainment taking place. These included knights in battle, have a go archery, craft demonstrations and music. There was also storytelling, mask making for the children and a very amusing performance of juggling by 'What a Polava'. These events at Goodrich Castle are always well worth visiting.

A recording made in a Broad Street flat

This short video and audio recording was made on Saturday and Sunday in a far less stressful setting than the clip which was filmed by the Dagenham Roundhouse crew a few weeks ago.

The video was recorded on Saturday during the live take of the initial guitar and vocal track. The final version contains two vocal tracks and two acoustic guitar tracks, which were added on Sunday. The whole recording took about four hours from start to finish.

Further bass guitar and slide guitar tracks were played by Kevin Sale of the 'Virtual Twelve' and the camera was operated by Tina Jones.

'Love Song' is one of my all time favourite Syd Barrett songs. I don't like this arrangement as much as Syd's original but it is one I invented to play alone on acoustic guitar, without the original Pink Floyd piano and organ accompaniments. The lyrics have also been modified slightly. This happened by accident initially, following a Freudian slip I made at home once, which Tina found amusing.
