Thank You!

I would like to take this opportunity to thank last year's Mayor of Ross, Councillor Phil Cutter and all the other members of Ross Town Council and Committee for awarding me the Mayor's Civic Award for Services to Ross-on-Wye. I was totally unaware that I was going to be the first recipient of this new annual award, at Monday evening's Mayor Making Ceremony. For once I am just lost for words.

I went along to photograph the installation of this year's Mayor, Councillor Derek Bedford and as a result of the surprise, I made two photographic errors. The most important of these was that I forgot to take an individual photo of the new Mayor, Mr Derek Bedford and his Mayoress, Meryl. I am sorry for this one and will redress this situation at the next possible opportunity.

The other, less important mistake was, with the initial shock, when Councillor Harry Bramer asked for my camera, I handed him the one with lens attached which could pick out an individual rock on the moon but brought my head so close that you can see the scars of childhood sibling warfare. The video camera was also not pointing quite in the right direction either but the sound is there.

Thank you all very much! There are many others who deserve the award equally, if not more than myself. I shall treasure it forever!
