Posh
frocks and DJs at the Leavers' Ball
|

The
John Kyrle High School's Leavers' Ball 2007 took place at
the Chase Hotel on Friday evening and I went along to take
photos of the leavers arriving in their pretty frocks and
dinner suits. Thanks to American movies showing the High
School 'Prom', leaving school parties have changed a lot
since I said farewell to my old school as an under age drinker,
with a rum and black in a spit and sawdust pub in Barking,
Essex, riding there on my bike as everyone else did.
This
year my presence at the beginning of the event was for two
reasons. I went officially to take 'Wyenot News' photos
but I was also there to photograph my daughter, Sarah who
was among those who attended this year's event. Being born
on my own birthday, 1st October, Sarah is the most expensive
(and best) birthday present I have ever received. It does
not seem possible that my youngest 'baby' is leaving school
this year.
On
this page are a few photos taken before the Ball and on
pages five and six of this week's news you will see photos
of some of the students arriving at The Chase, and some
taken inside the hotel.

My favourite Wyenot News groupies, Donna Garbett and Sarah Greenwold
wanted to go to the ball but left their ID cards at home so they
could not prove they were under 18. Ref: DSC_6956 |
