At
the Leavers' Ball
|
|
I
did not stay long inside the hotel but below are some photos
I took just prior to dinner being served. Music for the
evening was provided by Nigel Gaudion's Disco and I have
heard from several sources that Nigel did a great job of
keeping the guests entertained.
After
the Ball, the partying continued at various venues around
town until the early hours.

photo from Symonds Yat
|
|
Chris
Lane from Canada thought that readers might be interested
in this old picture of Symonds Yat that he recently came
across.
Chris
has lived in Canada since 1956 but is originally from Birmingham.
He recently found the picture while going through old family
photographs. 'I have no idea what year it was but I suspect
the fairly new condition of the car might be a clue,' he
said.
Does
anybody recognize the couple who were obviously enjoying
a picnic?

Ross
Junior Rebels
|
|
Ross
Junior Rebels held their end of season presentation on Saturday
following a successful season during which the team only
lost two games and came runners up at Edgar Street in the
Cup Final.
The
team's player of the season was Danny Haile and top goal
scorer was jointly obtained this year by Ryan Page and Michael
Donaldson.
The
team would like to thank Neil and Tracy Bedford for sponsoring
this season's football kit.
In
the photo are James Reid, James Davies, Danny Haile, Jake
Wild, Aaron Thorley, Ryan Page, Sam Davies, Mike Donaldson,
Ben MacDonald, Geraint Williams, Sam Humble, Rob Phillips,
Sam Callum, David Tookey. Charlie Davies was unable to attend
on Saturday.

Weather Station Readings
|
|
Ross-on-Wye Weather Station is located by the tennis courts
and bowling green at 'Crossfields' and is one of the important
stations around the country which regularly sends data to
the Meteorological Office. This is why Ross-on-Wye is sometimes
mentioned on the BBC weather reports. It is currently still
a manually monitored station and readings are taken twice
per day by husband and wife team, June
and Rex Swallow.
