Aided
by the sunny weather, a record breaking crowd of 700 people
descended on Bernithan Court on Saturday, 7th July for a
good, 'old-fashioned' afternoon of family entertainment.
Fittingly, the Fête was opened by actor and comedian Ben
Miller, accompanied by his wife, Belinda and year-old daughter,
who then proceeded to mix with the crowd and enjoy the programme
of events.
Wizard
Wonky's Magic Show and the Falconry Display proved to be
particularly popular, along with the parade of vintage tractors.
On the music front, Ross Town Band livened up the occasion
with their repertoire of brass band music followed by accomplished
performances by the Whitchurch School Performance Choir
and the Llangrove School Players.
A
magnificent £4,500 was raised - nearly 10% up on 2006 -
to help maintain and develop vital community facilities,
in particular Llangarron Church.
