Ross Town Carnival Week begins on Saturday, 28th July and
many events will be going on throughout the week leading
up to Carnival Day.
Carnival
Day itself is due to take place on Saturday 4th August,
with a bigger than ever procession of floats and lots of
stalls and side-shows for the people of Ross and its visitors
to enjoy. However, due to the current flooding situation,
Carnival Chairman, Mr. Mel Hodges has been informed by Herefordshire
Council that their usual site, the Caroline Symonds Gardens
cannot be used until further notice.
Mel
told Wyenot News: 'Contingency plans are being discussed
should the need arise for a different site to be used. The
committee is holding a meeting on Wednesday to discuss possible
options and a meeting with Herefordshire Council will take
place on Monday. We are determined that the Carnival will
go ahead, so please tell your readers to keep watching Wyenot
News for further carnival updates.'
Details
of Carnival events taking place in the run up to Saturday
4th August are featured in the 'What's Happening in Ross
This Week?' section of the news and on the 'What's On?'
page of Wyenot.com. We will keep you posted.
