While river levels are high the local ducks seem to be enjoying themselves. I have been watching this swan keeping her cygnet safe by the water's edge over the weekend. I'm not sure if the young one has damaged its leg though. If you watch the film, it seems to swim awkwardly with one leg on its back.

It is good to see that the white duck I photographed last year is still around and enjoying feeding from the top of a laurel bush in the Hope & Anchor garden. I had not been to the Hope & Anchor for over a year, until receiving an friendly email last week, so have not been following his / her progress.

Other ducks and their offspring enjoy the comfort of a part tree trunk and on picnic tables in the garden.
