Saturday 28th July sees the start of Carnival week
with lots of activities going on for all to take part in
leading up to Carnival Day on Saturday 4th August. Why not
go along to Ross Heritage Centre and pick up an entry form
for the increasingly popular 'Odd Object' competition? Forms
must be completed and returned to the Heritage Centre by
12 noon on Friday 3rd August.
On
Saturday evening, the amazing Will Killeen will be performing
at the Prince
of Wales from 9 pm. We are really looking forward to
seeing Will again.
Sunday,
29th July. Due to the success of last year's event where
£500 was raised for Whitchurch School, the Old
Court Hotel are holding a Garden Party with lots to
do, a hog roast, an 'Open the Box' raffle and some terrific
entertainment. Later, at The Prince of Wales fun Carnival
Quiz is being held. The quiz will begin at 8 pm.
Tuesday,
31st July. A carnival coffee morning is being held at
Ross Market place with stalls raising money for the Air
Ambulance, Ross Pre-School Playgroup and St. Michael's Hospice.
This event will run from 9 am until 1 pm. Meanwhile in the
Heritage Centre there is a 'Make Forts and Fairy Castle's'
activity session going on between 11 am until 3 pm.
Wednesday
1st August. The scouting movement is celebrating its
centenary this year and anybody who is or has been involved
with the movement is welcome to come along to Ross market
House at 7:45 am to join in a Renewal of Promise. Please
contact Robin Shaw if you would like to take part in this
event as they are hoping to offer rolls to those attending
and want to be sure that they have enough. You can contact

For
later risers, a Carnival Prize Bingo Night is being held
at The Prince
of Wales. Eyes down at 7:30 pm.
Friday
3rd August. Broome
Farm is the venue for a Grand Folk Night, with lots
of great music from Compost Heap, who always provide terrific
entertainment with their great range of songs, and the Spureme,
Awesome Dudes with their excellent acoustic roots music.
The bar opens at 6 pm and as well as delicious cider, there
are lots of other beverages to choose from and some great
tasting food will also be available. Tickets cost £5
