h.Art
at Wobage Makers Gallery
|
|
After
visiting Newent Onion Fayre on Saturday, we decided to follow
an h.Art sign we had spotted, which led us to Wobage Farm,
Upton Bishop. We were offered a very welcome cup of tea
upon our arrival, after which we took a look at some of
the works on display in the gallery.
At
Wobage Farm there are five resident potters, two woodworkers
and a jeweller. They exhibit their work in a converted,
18th century courtyard barn which was renovated by the late
Michael Casson and his wife Sheila, who produces some wonderful
pottery.

After
leaving Wobage Makers Gallery we made our way to Broome
Farm, Peterstow, where metal worker and bicycle designer
extraordinaire, Alan Ross was exhibiting some of his works.
In the first of the photographs below, Alan stands proudly
between his Striped Sea Robin and 'Happy Couple' who are
sharing an umbrella.
Alan
is becoming quite well known for his steel sculptures. We
wish him every success with his work
Young
and talented artist Sophie Wagstaff also exhibited some
of her works at Broome Farm. You can see Sophie with her
beautiful woodland scenes in the photographs below.
There
are lots of local exhibitions during h.Art, which runs from
6th until the 16th September throughout Herefordshire. For
instance,.The
Bridge at Wilton is currently exhibiting the
works of well known local artist, Doug Eaton and there is
also an exhibition at Ross Library. For further information,
pick up an h.Art brochure from various places in town or
telephone Amanda Fitzwilliams on 01432 261818.
