Weston-Under-Penyard
School SIng 'A Child is Born.'
|
|
The
pupils of Weston-under-Penyard Primary School have been
acting and singing in their production of musical Christmas
play, 'A Child is Born.'
After
three performances at school, the group came to Ross Market
House on Friday to sing some of the songs from the production
so that everybody could enjoy their music. You can see parts
of their performance in this week's edition of WNTV
News.
Whilst
I was filming this event, several parents expressed an interest
in purchasing a DVD of the whole performance. It has been
an extremely busy week here at 'Wyenot News' and I did not
initially film with producing a DVD in mind, so I have not
had time to make one as yet but I have since spoken to the
school. I will produce a DVD with the footage I shot (which
was virtually the whole performance) early in the New Year,
which I will then take to the school. Parents of the children
will then be able to watch it order one from the school.
Each DVD takes me ages to produce, so, to cover time and
materials, there will be a £6.00 per DVD charge, I'm
afraid.

WYETOTS
- A great local childminding service
|
|
Jo
Gilmour and Debbie Rudge are locally based Ofsted registered
child minders who are eager to promote the benefits of home
based childcare. Childminders can care for children aged
birth to 11 years for parents returning to the work place
and after school for older children. We feel that the benefits
are outstanding. We have plenty of activities including
dedicated playrooms in our individual homes. We take part
in many local activities including toddlers groups, Jumpstart
and attend the child minders group at the new childrens
centre at the Ryefield Centre. We love getting out and about
with the children in our care such as the park, Beechenhurst
and the library.
Debbie
lives in Ross and JO lives in Walford and both can do pick
ups from Walford School, Walford Playgroup and Abacus. Although
both child minders work independently, they get together
for the children to socialize with each other and generally
have loads of fun!
Child
minders require much training which includes paediatric
first aid, food hygiene and the new early years foundation.
Herefordshire provides fantastic training for child care
of which both regularly attend.
For
vacancies or a chat about your child, call Debbie on 01989
762379 or JO on 01989 564173 or visit www.wyetots.co.uk.

The
New Year's Day Fun Run has been taking place in Ross-on-Wye
every year now for quite some time. The trophy that Neil
Lucas is holding in the photograph below was given by PGL
in 1979, but it is difficult to say whether this was the
very beginning of the race's history or the cup was donated
once the event became popular. There are many names engraved
on the trophy, the latest addition being that of local schoolgirl
Vanessa Brann.
On
New Year's Day 2008, the organizers would love to see previous
participants turn up to take part again as well as newcomers
to this fun race. Watch this week's WNTV
News for further information.
