Jumping
Jive at The White Lion
|
|
Herefordshire
Jive fans are in for a great Christmas treat on Sunday,
23rd December as the Wye Valley's leading Jump Jive band,
The Jiveoholics, make a welcome return appearance at The
White Lion, Wilton.
The
Jiveoholics present a humorous, high energy set featuring
the music of Louis Jordan, Cab Calloway and Louis Prima,
that was all the rage in the 1940's and early 1950's. The
six piece band faithfully recreate a whole host of classic
jump jive hits that had people rocking and rolling in the
aisles years before Rock and Roll had even been invented
and the evening is guaranteed to go with a swing.
Admission
is free and the first set will begin at 8.30 pm, so dust
off your dancing shoes, get your partner on the floor and
jump jive into Christmas. For further information call The
White Lion on 01989 562785.

PTFA Christmas Fayre
|
|
Goodrich
School PTFA held a Christmas Fayre at the school on Friday,
giving visitors the chance to have a lot of fun whilst raising
money to boost school funds. There were lots of activities
to take part in including a tombola, candle making, a game
involving sprouts and many stalls with lovely Christmas
gifts for sale.
It
looks as if a good time was had by all who attended.

A
special breakfast for Alfie
|
|
Leukaemia
sufferer, Alfie, who comes from Hereford is just three and
a half years old and at the weekend he was treated to a
special breakfast at the Pengethley Garden Centre Restaurant
by his mum and dad. The Restaurant staff gave him a hearty
welcome and while he was there, Alfie got their full attention
as the threat of catching an infection does not allow him
to join with other children.
Alfie's
mum praised the staff, saying that they were, 'brilliant
- making the meal a wonderful event'. Alfie really enjoyed
himself, however, this wasn't all Alfie enjoyed because
the Ross Lions Club had persuaded Santa Claus to get up
early and go along to the Pengethley Garden Centre just
to meet him, talk to him and give him a present.
He
was over the moon. The Ross Lions, along with the Pengethley
staff, send their best wishes to Alfie and hope he has a
wonderful Christmas.
