Updating
the 'What's On?' page for 2008
Please send in your event ASAP
|
|
With
this being a hectic time and the news having taken up a
lot of prep time, we have not had time to sort out the 'What's
On?' page as yet. This will be updated over the next few
days.
If
you have an event coming up at any time during
2008, please send in your 'What's On?' information as
soon as possible - preferably by yesterday. The 'What's
On?' service is free and the longer your fate, fayre, coffee
morning, special church service, music gig, play, pantomime,
dance, welly wanging competition, dog show, charity fund-raiser,
what-have-you is publicized on the page - the more people
will see it and know about it to turn it into a successful
event.
The
'What's On?' page is one of the most visited pages on the
whole of Wyenot.com and Wyenot News, and visitors to the
town use it a lot when planning their holiday.
As
this is a free service though, please just send in Date,
Event, Venue and Start Time info as I do not have the
time to decipher billboard posters to extract this info.
Thank you.

Carols,
bagpipes and lunch for the elderly on Christmas Day
|
|
Ross
Lions held their annual lunch for the elderly at Ross Ryefield
Centre on Christmas Day. Having cooked a turkey overnight
for our family Christmas lunch, I left Tina and her son,
Mike in charge of cooking the veg and went along to the
event on behalf of 'Wyenot News'.
The
atmosphere at Christmas Day lunch is always great and this
year was no exception. Ross branch of the New
Life Church happened to be holding their service in
the room next door and came along, giving an impromptu performance
of Christmas carols. 5 year old, Ruth Bradford sang a verse
of 'Away in a Manger' solo, which the guests and helpers
alike loved. After
the choir, Alan Harrison played Christmas carols on the
bagpipes and all in all, a lovely time was had by all.
This
event is also covered in this week's WNTV
News programme.
