Brendan John Jones
26-8-1942 to 12-2-2008

It is with sadness that we announce the death of Brendan John Jones, who passed away at Ross Community Hospital on Tuesday, 12th February 2008. Brendan leaves behind a son, Michael, step son, Russell and brother Gerry. It is Michael's wish that this is just a short notice to inform people of Brendan's funeral arrangements

Brendan's funeral will take place at Hereford Crematorium on Thursday, 28th February at 12 noon. All are welcome.

Nature Watch - Heading for a total lunar eclipse

Having filmed the current lunar cycle in a run-up to Thursday morning's total lunar eclipse, looking at the sky late on Tuesday evening with cloud building, I have serious doubts as to whether I will be able to film the eclipse. I took a break from news prep and filmed Tuesday's moon soon after dark but there is since no sign of it in the icy cold, cloudy sky. I'll just have to hope for a break in that cloud at the right time.

Continuing on from last week's issue, I have both photographed and filmed the moon, and have put together a short sequence of some pretty good footage for this week's WNTV News programme. Below are just a few of the photographs I have taken, with one photo taken on Monday evening which I have cobbled into a crude lunar map. I hope you enjoy watching the show and as a reminder, just in case there is a break in the clouds, Thursday's eclipse begins with the penumbral eclipse (the most difficult part to see) at 00:34:59 GMT. The total eclipse lasting for over half an hour will begin at 03:00:34 GMT and end at 03:51:32 GMT, with the moment of greatest eclipse occurring at 03:26:05 GMT.

If you are silly, like me - enjoy it if you can.
