Waking up in the orchard on a sunny Saturday morning was
a great feeling. We made our way down to the yard, where
some delicious breakfast rolls were being served. We went
home to walk Eric and came back to meet the cider makers.
There were quite a few different producers there and a couple
of them, Barbourne and Gwatkins cider spoke to us for WNTV
News. Yet again there was some great music performed throughout
the day. I particularly enjoyed 'Kentucky Fried' and Chicken
Shed Zeppelin who gave brilliant performances and had the
dance floor packed once again.
There
were many 'behind the scenes' workers at this fabulous event.
John and Hilary Draper provided some excellent food and
there were lots of people to help serve it up. The bar staff,
especially Richie were always polite and helpful, despite
appearing to be working 24 / 7. Henry and team kept a smooth
running car parking system and directed campers to their
pitches and John Edwards did a brilliant job at the sound
desk. There are, of course, many more who helped to make
this event the great success that it was. As Mike says 'You
know who you are' and thank you. Thanks to Mike, Cindy and
Phil for your hospitality. We had a wonderful weekend.
Due
to the huge success of this year's event, (some of those
who hadn't booked had to be turned away,) ticket booking
priority will be given to regulars for a limited period
before tickets go on sale to the general public for next
year's festival. Phil says please don't try booking up just
yet though. They need to recover from this one first.
Details
of booking arrangements will appear on Wyenot News as soon
as we have them.
