As
regular readers and viewers on WNTV will be aware, I have
been following the nightly sunset air display of the Pencoyd
starlings and yesterday I managed to capture the most stunning
film so far, along with some nice sunset photographs. This
time, I decided to capture the sound of the starlings properly,
and so, apart from my introduction and sign-off, I have
not run any music, leaving the sound to nature and a passing
aircraft.
The
film is well worth watching to the end as the sound when
all of the birds are in the bush is incredible! Please take
no notice of the accidental echo of my voice on the film.
I have not added echo to make the birds sound better. What
happened is that I took my headphones off while speaking
to save hearing myself echo back a second later and, without
thinking, I hung them next to the camera's microphone. (I
had one remote radio microphone and one at the camera end).
This
is not the worst mistake I have made whilst filming the
starlings. The day before I drove there and then realized
I had forgotten both of my stills cameras and the movie
camera. On the bright side, I had remembered the tripod!
:-)
Happy
2009! Enjoy! If you really like this film, you can follow
this

Only for personal use though, please unless you ask first.
