Tourism
is the major industry for Ross-on-Wye and the Wye Valley
and as well as providing local news, the 'Photographic Tour
of Ross-on-Wye and the Wye Valley' is there to help and
is probably the most successful of all tourism resources
for the area, Government/Council run or otherwise. Every
day throughout the season, on top of the local news, thousands
of tourism related pages are viewed on 'Wyenot'.
This
year in particular, with the financial crisis, it is very
important to do as much as possible to help the local tourism
industry and so I have put this film together as part one
in a phase of new tourism films for 'Wyenot'. This particular
film is for viewing on the home and 'Scenic' pages of 'Wyenot.com'.
As however, local people are more interested in local news
and probably do not view this page very often to notice
changes to its appearance, I am giving the film its premiere
in the news section. A film for the 'Historic' page - as
well as other films, specifically targeted at places like
Ross-on-Wye and Symonds Yat, showing local attractions will
follow on 'Wyenot' as soon as possible. I still have to
film some of the footage for these.
This
film, I guess, took seven years in the making as I took
the first animated still image I have used in 2002 and the
last bit of winter movie film in 2009. I hope that you find
it peaceful and relaxing, and that when I introduce it to
the 'Scenic' page, it helps all local businesses which rely
on the tourism industry. All of the footage was filmed within
a few miles of Ross-on-Wye and it is possible to get to
these places from Ross within half an hour. They include
but are not limited to: Brampton Abbotts, Foy, Symonds Yat,
Goodrich, May Hill, Soudley, Wilton and, of course, Ross-on-Wye.
Some stills from the film can be seen below. You may use
these for your printed tourism promotions, as long as the
credits stay in tact - but not on web sites please without
permission.
