'Jack and the Beanstalk', this year's annual pantomime from
the Sellack and King's Caple Players has proved to be a
complete sell-out, with 130 tickets sold for all three performances.
The performances are due to take place this evening and
over the weekend. The play was only advertised locally with
posters but many of the audience are regulars to Sellack
and King's caple pantos and travel from all over the UK
for the event.
The
proceeds from this year's panto, which was written by Janet
Barnfield, who plays the part of a tree during the performance,
will be split. Half will go to St. Michael's Hospice and
half towards the upkeep of Sellack village hall. Janet is
a keen playwright and has already started writing the players'
next panto, Aladdin.
I
went to last night's final rehearsal of 'Jack and the Beanstalk',
where most of the players were dressed in their costume
and filmed a song and one scene from the panto, which can
be watched below.
