LOCAL VET SIMON RUNS FOR WINSTON'S WISH

Simon Lyddon, one of the vets at Archenfield Surgery, Ross-on-Wye is taking on another challenge for the charity Winston's Wish next Sunday, 26th April by running the Flora London Marathon.

Simon would like to thank everyone for their generous donations to the fund-raising for the Three Peaks Challenge last August. He and his brother-in-law raised a massive 5500 for Winston's Wish and completed the challenge in 23 hours 35 minutes.

Very kindly (he thinks!) Winston's Wish have given him one of their places for the 2009 London Marathon. This will be his first marathon. The training has been going well and he has covered just over 500 miles since the New Year! All being well he is targeting a completion time of 3 hours 45 minutes

Two years ago, Simon's sister Emma lost her husband Jason to illness and it has been her strength for her children Harry and Rosie, that has given Simon the drive, determination and inspiration to take on these challenges.

Every 30 minutes a child in the UK is bereaved of a parent. Winston's Wish supports children following the expected or sudden death of their mother, father, brother or sister. Recognized as a leading authority on the provision of child bereavement services across the UK, it is also the largest provider of bereavement services for children in Europe.

To donate to Winston's Wish or to sponsor Simon, please visit www.justgiving.com/lyddonmarathon, follow the link at www.archenfieldvets.co.uk or pop into the Surgery!

A personal note from Simon: 'Please donate as much as you can for this fantastic charity. THANK YOU! XXX.'
