HAVE YOU SEEN THE BLUE CAR WHICH FAILED TO STOP AFTER CAUSING CORSA TO OVERTURN AT PETERSTOW YESTERDAY AFTERNOON?

Police in Ross-on-Wye are appealing for witnesses after a blue car was in collision with the rear of a red Vauxhall Corsa yesterday causing it to overturn and then left the scene without stopping.

The incident happened at around 4.30pm on the A49 at Peterstow, by the Red Lion public house when a red Vauxhall Corsa travelling south on the A49 braked to turn left into the lane at the side of the Red Lion. At this, a vehicle following the Corsa collided with the rear of it, forcing the Corsa up a grass bank. The vehicle then overturned. The offending vehicle continued on without stopping in the direction of Ross. It is believed the vehicle was blue or silver in colour.

The driver of the Corsa was trapped in the vehicle after it overturned and the Fire Service were called to remove her. She was checked over by an ambulance crew but was uninjured. The A49 had to be closed for a short period whilst the vehicle was recovered.

Police are keen to hear from anyone who saw the collision or the blue/silver vehicle leaving the scene towards Ross-on-Wye. They would also like to hear from anyone who knows of a blue/silver vehicle that has suddenly acquired front end damage since yesterday.

Anybody with information should contact PC Chris Smith at Ross Police Station on 0300 333 3000 as soon as possible.
