is always the same when our work appears somewhere else,
we received a phone call informing us that the article in
the picture below had appeared in the Ross Journal six hours
before the newspaper had dropped through our door. 'How
did they get hold of it?' Asked the caller.
I did eventually hear the plop as it landed on the doormat,
rather than do the usual and put it straight on the pile
to give to the Hedgehog Rescue Centre, as the design of
our house puts the loo very close to the letter box, needing
a break, I took a seat and read the whole Ross-on-Wye page.
I can only guess that the news ripping fairy must have contrived
the article in question from the written
up interview and video interview, which took place in
our garden and had been published here, on 'Wyenot News'
a few days beforehand.
an article written by somebody else is not quite the same
as writing it yourselves. The problem is you see, the mistakes
get copied too. Just like when at school, the cheat always
got found out for having the same wrong answers in exams
as the boy / girl sitting next to him / her. It just so
happens that nobody was with us, taking in the view of our
magnificent, environmentally friendly garden as we sat in
front of the pond, admiring the frogs and speaking to Jack
Baldus about Jamstand 2009.
back to the week before, we published that 'some 50 proud
vintage motorcycle owners' turned out at the Motorcycle
Display. Sorry about that one (story above Jamstand),
our mistake, we neglected to mention that they brought 91
bikes with them. We also mentioned Harley Davidsons, which
we did not actually notice at the time. Come to think of
it, I don't think there was a Harley in sight, so that was
also a mistake on our part. Sorry about that one too. Our
photos of the event did show side cars though, so it is
quite reasonable to assume that, 'some with sidecars' turned
up for the show.
will try our very best to get the story right this coming
Thursday, when Neil Armstrong, the first man on the moon
is due to give his talk, 'READING THE ROSS JOURNAL IN 1/6
G' at the Larruperz Centre, and on Friday, when Jack is
due to negotiate figures with Mick Jagger for the Stones
performance at the Jamstand finalé.
