7th August heralds the start of JAMSTAND 2009, which promises
to be a fantastic, two day extravaganza of live music and
family fun at the Caroline Symonds Gardens. After two successful
one day concerts, organizer Jack Baldus and his team decided
it was time for this great event to expand and have arranged
yet another free musical feast for the people of Ross and
its visitors to enjoy.
2009 will begin with a great mix of acoustic folk and blues,
featuring the likes of the beautiful voice of Louise Richardson
and the talented duo, Mike Marky and Nick Jones. Throughout
the day, the music will gradually build up to give you Latin
funk, Hip hop, Rock and R & B and visitors will be able
to enjoy the fabulous Broome Cupboard Blues band and local
favourites, The Dandelion Killers, who are headlining on
the first night.
Saturday, 'Demon of the Decks,' DJ Yoda will take the main
stage for a while, warming everybody up for the bands which
include Jive Stick, the Zebedy Rays and Jack's own band,
Zang Tang. While
all this fantastic live entertainment is happening on the
main stage, the DJ Tent will be jumping to sounds provided
by Robinson's Jam, DJ Odi and Fatman & Tropical, amongst
have not been forgotten at JAMSTAND and there will be plenty
to keep them occupied by way of face painting, bouncy castles
and other activities and, should they happen to get lost,
a welfare tent will be manned to keep them safe until reunited
with their parents. There will be a variety of stalls for
people to browse and food stalls, the Broome Farm Cider
tent and a bar will also be available.
fun is set to begin at 12 Noon on Friday, 7th August. We
hope to see you there.
