Ross
2nd XV entertained Drybrook 3rds in a dour exchange at the
sports centre on Saturday. With Drybrook unable to provide
a full front row the game had to be played with uncontested
scrums.
Ross
started the match the quicker with some good snappy passing
allowing the backs to take the game to the opposition. Only
good defence by Drybrook kept Ross from scoring early on.
Ross then lost fullback Chris Gage with a severe head injury
after a clash with the Drybrook Second row. At the restart
Drybrook moved the ball upfield and were awarded a penalty
which was converted for a 3 nil lead.
Drybrook
started to control the match and a fine drive and maul resulted
in a well deserved try by Drybrook Captain, Shaun Borne.
This was to be the last points of the day for either side
and the second half petered out as a contest in a very poor
game, with the final score of 8 nil to Drybrook.
Congratulations
go to Troy Mccauley on his Ross debut and also thanks to
Ross sponsor Walford Timber.
On
Saturday, 26th September, Ross 1st XV will play at home
against Hucclecote. Kick off is at 3pm. Ross 2nd XV are
playing away against Berry Hill 3rd XV.
