The first Ross-on-Wye 'Walkers are Welcome' Festival began on Saturday morning, bringing local walking groups together to promote Ross as a great place to visit for walking breaks and holidays.

The event was officially launched by Mayor, Councillor John Edwards, who, following an introduction by committee chairman, Sam Phillips, cut a ribbon at Ross Market on Saturday morning. Many walks, varying in distance, some easy and some intended for more accomplished walkers were enjoyed by many over the weekend.

Ross is an ideal centre for walking holidays, with many miles of easily accessible footpaths whether the walker is looking for an easy stroll along the riverbank or a ten mile hike with challenging climbs.
