his controversial appearance on the BBC 'Question Time'
programme, a visit to Ross-on-Wye by leader of the BNP,
Nick Griffin sparked a protest outside the Chase Hotel on
Saturday. Word had quickly spread through the town that
Mr. Griffin was holding a party fund raising event at the
hotel and protesters tried to prevent vehicles from entering
the grounds. Whilst we were there, the protest was largely
peaceful and closely watched by the police, who ensured
safe entry to those attending the event.
spoke to some of the protesters about why there were there,
and the strength of feeling against the policies adopted
by this controversial party. The visit caused such a stir
that Conservative candidate, Jesse Norman and Labour candidate,
Philippa Roberts visited the scene to give their views.
